Angels Watching Over Me

One of my favorite men of God ever has got to be the late Rev. Billy Graham. I grew up as a child often hearing his Sunday preaching on the radio. We were never forced to go to church, but my dad’s girlfriend had faith and as he slept from working the overnight shifts as a Boston cabbie, she would often take my brother and I to the local bowling ally. It was church on the ride and I’ve never forgotten it.

I don’t ever remember hearing “doom and gloom” or being beaten over the head with a bible at all. I just remembered this man, and his passion (before I knew what that meant) and I am convinced that this small action had a very large impact on my walk with God later.

I have a Billy Graham desk calendar, printed in 2005, called “Unto the Hills“, that I often quote on social media, just to share the good news that it provides and it is always so timely, that I wanted to share it today. With so much happening in our country (USA) and our world today, I don’t feel like we can ever get enough of God’s promises. We need to know that we are never alone.

November 8:
We must be aware that angels keep in close and vital contact with all that is happening on the earth. We must attest to their invisible presence and unceasing labors. Let us believe that they are here among us. We do know they delight with us over every victory in our lives. Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation? (Hebrews 1:14 RSV)
