In this morning’s reading via the Bible app, I heard something I had not really heard before about “casting”. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.
Casting a line – fishing wise, or casting a YouTube video to my TV…. Not the same effort whatsoever.
In this devotional, it states the Hebrew, the word actually refers more to an action of effort. To “throw, hurl, shed or fling”. We need to take the action of handing them (with effort) to Him. He wants to take them – but we need to actually GIVE them over. That’s what “casting” refers to, here anyway. It’s a great devotional. I highly suggest checking it out. But it got me thinking: how often do I cast my cares to God with the effort of simply picking a video and in one click send it to my TV? Probably didn’t even burn one calorie.

Well, this year, God gave me a word and that word is “intentional”. Duh 🤦🏻♀️.

Thank you, Lord for reminding me that You invite me to intentionally – with effort – take – CAST my cares and hand them to You. I know you are more capable than I will ever be to handle them and your plan much greater and better than all I could ever imagine!
