🤣 Maybe(?) I mean, God is our Perfect Father – He wants us to ask, and delights in giving His kids the desires of their hearts – when it’s in their best interest and in accordance with His plan – and brings Him the glory He so rightly deserves.
Like you would for your kids. But infinitely more so.
But I’ll go one step further…
Listen. Ask Him, yes definitely ask – but also, prepare for the dream as you wait and listen for His direction.
Maybe that “thing” or dream was placed there in your heart by Him. He certainly does that. But let’s not forget that His will is far superior – better and safer for us – His kids He dearly loves.
And most importantly, as a Christian, we are constantly in a state of reconstruction: the old is being peeled away and the new is replacing old desires and habits.
God sees and loves us right where we are, and who we are becoming. He cares more about the internal (character) than external things – but He does still care about our desires too.
Remember, He’s the perfect Dad ♥️.
And our dreams may just be a piece of a plan. Early development stage. He weaves everything we go through together for & for His glory; He will direct us step by step, when we seek Him first, listen for His wisdom, direction – and prepare.
Time is in His hands.
It might be a “crazy”, way outta reach idea to us (or others) – and maybe He’ll laugh because He’s the Author of laughter – but not in a judgmental or critical way (maybe others might); but God’s not a reflection of mankind (we were made in His image but wanted to be on His level so that got all messed up early on…read Genesis).
Stay focused on God’s word, voice, ways, and direction.
I’d say, then, this meme or quote, is – to me – just an opinion. Maybe meant to poke fun at how we tend to think we are in control 🤔… I haven’t looked too deep into Woody’s writings but I’ve certainly spoke this a time or two 🤣.
Rest assured – if it’s His will and for your best – certainly ask, seek, prepare, listen, and wait on – watch for His timing 😎 it will come to pass.
It’s in His character to do what’s best for His kids – and all of His creation for that matter.
