Lose It to Keep It?

What Jesus said about our life:

“For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake and the gospel’s will save it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God].” Mark 8:35 AMP

It’s about taking up our own cross, living not for our selfish desires, but for God’s Kingdom; for His way in service to Him and others. And His way is so much better than ours!

But really, how else can I respond to Jesus for paying my sin debt – laying down His life for mine?

Jesus was 100% clear, so then, who are you living for? For you? For Him?

I know that I don’t want to gain the world and lose my soul ✝️.

In recovery we say, “if you want to keep it, you have to give it away.” It’s why we share our recovery stories (and testimonies, sharing the miracles God has done and continues to do in us). We praise God, and it gives others hope!

It’s why we reach out our hand to someone who is new and struggling. We allow God to use our surrendered life to reach one more hurting person.

Glory to God! Yes! He can use even your’s and my messes for His message!! 🙌🏻

To keep our life, to live our truly best life (according to our Creator’s beautiful grand plan) we need to lose it; we must surrender it to Him, for the one God designed us to live in the first place. And it’s so worth it 💜.
